Dr. Winton Anderson
Winton R. Anderson, PhD is a dedicated higher education professional currently serving as the Director of Student Leadership and Engagement at Southern University and A&M College. With a strong foundation in Higher Education Administration, Dr. Anderson brings deep expertise in organizational training, student development and leadership, counseling, and advising. His work centers on empowering individuals, strengthening systems, and cultivating leadership that creates lasting impact. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Anderson is a community leader, pastor, author, and world-changer, committed to guiding others with purpose, integrity, and vision. He has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Louisiana State University, a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Dallas Baptist University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy from Southern University.
Dr. Saundra McGuire
Saundra Yancy McGuire, PhD is the Director Emerita of the Center for Academic Success and a retired assistant vice chancellor and professor of chemistry at Louisiana State University. She is best known for her work on science education, having written several papers and books on the subject. Prior to her employment at LSU, McGuire spent eleven years working at Cornell University. Her presentation record includes keynote addresses and workshops at over 250 institutions in 43 states and 8 countries, and covers topics such as learning, teaching. Her interests focus on improving student learning by involving faculty in metacognitive learning strategies. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Southern University, her master’s degree from Cornell University, and her Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she received the Chancellor’s Citation for Exceptional Professional Promise.
Dr. Ashley Clayton
Ashley Clayton, PhD is an Associate Professor of Higher Education at Louisiana State University. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech and her master’s degree from Florida International University. Dr. Clayton earned her Ph.D. in Educational Research and Policy Analysis (Higher Education) at North Carolina State University and completed her postdoctoral appointment at the University of Georgia's Institute of Higher Education. Prior to becoming a faculty member, she worked in undergraduate admissions and TRIO Upward Bound. Dr. Clayton’s research agenda broadly focuses on practices and policies that address postsecondary access and success. Her work often examines postsecondary outcomes for underserved student populations, including first-generation college students and low-income students. Several of her research projects examine college access interventions, college advising, PK-20 pathways, and the postsecondary student experiences. Ashley is involved in several local and statewide initiatives focused on postsecondary attainment in Louisiana. She serves as a College Mentor through the Baton Rouge Youth Coalition, which prepares high-achieving, under-resourced high school students to enter, excel in, and graduate from college.
Dr. Kristie Perry
Kristie Perry, PhD currently serves as the Director of the Center for Social Research and as an associate professor of Sociology at Southern University and A&M College. She is an experienced program manager with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education arena. She is skilled in both policy and data analysis, as well as fundraising and project management. She received a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a Master of Science in Social Science from Southern University and a PhD from Southern Illinois University.
